Our People and Our Knowledge are Our Most Important Assets, But We are Proud to Posses Highly Specialized Drilling Equipment
Groundwork Drilling maintains an array of heavy-duty, deep soil drilling machines and rock-coring drills specifically suited to the soil sample gathering tasks required by our clients.
In total, we have six powerful drills capable of deep ground drilling and soil extraction. Three of these drills are track mounted for all terrain use. The other three are truck mounted for more easily accessible drilling. These are all rugged, high-speed drills capable of boring through all types of soil. All are equipped with the industry-standard split spoon that precisely extracts the 1.5 x 2’ soil sample that soil-testing engineers need to work with.
At times, large quantities of water are required in the drilling process. For this, Groundwork Drilling owns two 500-gallon water trailers that accompany the drills to the site. To efficiently move our heavy-duty drilling equipment from site to site, we own two float trucks. Our fleet also includes three service vehicles, each with 260-gallon water tanks. These are used for hauling related equipment. Related equipment includes water pumps, generators, well supplies, back-fill material and even light packs for night work.
When doing drilling work of this nature, we inevitably encounter rock formations. For this we have coring equipment for industry-standard sizes – BQ, NQ and HQ.
Groundwork Drilling is not dependent on outside sources for equipment maintenance. We have our own maintenance department at our facility in Etobicoke, Ontario. There we can do welding, machining and metal fabrication. We repair and even rebuild our own drilling equipment.
